not only does crafting in forager store materials in your vault, but you can also directly use them in your structures without dumping them into the ground. that’s fantastic for getting quick crafting done, but it also means you cant stockpile resources. keep in mind that after you use an item, it will return to storage permanently unless you remove it from the structure. you can remove the item from the structure by right-clicking on it in the inventory panel. you also can remove items from the storage area, of course, but do be careful – take advantage of this when you want to remove only a specific item and nothing else. this will keep your inventory space from getting clogged up.
if you dont like the controls for some reason, you can choose to have the game use the mouse on your keyboard. you can click to move the cursor as you would in a normal game, and then click again to use an item or attack. double-click with the left mouse button to lock the screen orientation and repeat clicks to toggle the display on or off.

if you need to take a break from a fight, you can press escape. itll pause the game entirely, and with one key press you can resume as if nothing happened. you can use your inventory to save, however, so you can come back to your position later if you make it out.
mining for iron in forager isnt difficult. not for those of us who know what we are doing. and doing it solo isnt impossible either. the game does have a timer though. once you reach the maximum speed of your mining (this defaults to around a minute), youll start to burn out. when this occurs, youll have to wait a few seconds before you can mine again. note that your reserve energy will be entirely depleted after this waiting period.
unlike other games in this genre, forager doesnt require a certain amount of deposits to continue. its not possible to just purchase the next island once youve finished the game. anyway, you can buy the extra islands for up to 20,000g. or you could just keep playing. its up to you!
you are, of course, a man of action. youll clear out nearby resource nodes in moments. thats how you will get most of your resources early in the game. assuming your heart isnt already dead from picking up the earliest hearts you can find, youll need to find a mining spot in the game. otherwise, you can head for the arena if thats all you need. those who arent using raw energy as a currency have the option of using gold which can be earned as you progress.
if you havent noticed already, forager provides no lives whatsoever. you have only one heart. and it needs to be restored to full health before you can proceed again. you can purchase some health via chips or cogs, or you can replenish your hearts at the forge as you craft items. with those basic guidelines in mind, you should be able to make it through the first island without losing a heart.
