description: the goal of this mod is to mimic the original splinter cell experience. it aims to preserve the “character” aspect of the game, so even though i’m focusing on the new methods of solving challenges, i’ve decided to not interrupt the flow in a way that the original game didn’t. that’s why you’ll be able to see little irregularities in gameplay, like a change in camera angle while loading a particular section of the level. it’s a still image, like the old ones, so it’s not as noticeable as it was in the original, but it’s there.
the special editions of the games have gameplay mechanics not present in the standard versions. conviction: you must deliver four monologs to the different members of the terrorist organization known as the covenant.
each monologue is different and must be delivered to a different target. if you deliver the last monologue to the wrong target, you’ll start the mission over from the beginning, so you’d better have a good plan of how you’re going to do this.
at the end of each monologue, you’ll get a little progress bar that will fill up as long as you’re in the vicinity of the target. once the target is locked in, the purple mark will appear on their head and it’ll be destroyed once you release the monologue (so you can’t use it again).
the objectives in the game are to find the target’s security codes and then retrieve the requested information. if you don’t do these things, you won’t get the splinter cell “credits”, but you’ll get gained respect points that can be used to unlock new weapons, gadgets and items.
