now we are ready to turn the render into a working render. go to save for render and click save as. there is a little setting at the bottom of the save for render dialog box where you can edit the save to render settings.
when you get to the settings tab, look at the data flow settings and change the destination to render. you can change this to whatever you would like. if you are rendering to a directory, you can name your render. if you are going to render to video, you can hit ok. if you are interested in learning more about data flows, i have created my own post about it here:
if you think you are good to go, you can finish off the render by selecting either render to disk or render to render engine. i recommend render to disk, as you can turn off your render engine and just skip the render, allowing you to use your pc/laptop for other things when your done for the day.

next go to the image > adjustments and click auto mask at the bottom. it will build a mask based on the selection you are making. finally, go to image > adjustments and click auto mask at the bottom again. this will bring up a dialog box asking you if you want to merge the mask with the previous mask that was automatically made. click yes and it will merge the mask with the one made previously.
i can’t get things to render. i’ve tried multiple scenes and methods of rendering. vray gets to the point of setting up the scene and then it just freezes, then i kill the vray process and open the task manager. it seems like its just hanging on the call to vray load. it seems to be related to the hard disk. i also have a lot of vscode (a text editor) open on the hard drive. vscode seems to work perfectly without freezing. rebooting seems to fix it for a while. but eventually it will do it again.
i’m not sure what to do. it sounds like a hardware issue or just how the software works. it also sounds like it is file corruption related, but i have nothing else to loose. it is a separate partition. i have windows 10.
