a love story is made simple by the chemistry of leading actors anoop menon and kalabhavan navas. anoop menon is more likable in the film. he is a simple man and the way he approaches the character is unique. anoop menon is a multi-talented actor and even a mediocre film can be made a superhit if he is involved in it. kalabhavan navas has excellent screen presence and he can act a character in the movie with ease. he has a knack of making viewers engrossed in the film. the only point of concern here is that, even though they have a good character, they don’t have much screen presence. the comedy is done well and the film has a fair share of moments of humour. it could be the perfect date movie for couples who are eager to watch a film which has a good message. the songs are hit and they add to the fun of the film.
peruchazhi has the status of a disaster movie, with its script being an epic one, but the problem with such movies is that the plots are not ever original. and it has the dubious distinction of having been inspired by a book. the book has been translated into malayalam as ‘kadava‘ and it describes the adventures of a group of young people who have to save the life of a king who is stranded on an island. like in the book, two of the main characters have to enter the bodies of children who are stranded on the island. in the movie, the film actually starts from a point where two youngsters are marooned on an island. the rest of the film is about their adventures. in the book the three youngsters are from upper middle class families. the film has not even remotely touched such a central subject. the book is a piece of research and has touches of humour. not the film.
