The Game Devil Tears is a first person adventure game in 2D, sometimes rendered in 3D, sometimes in 2D, but always in a very pixel-like way. The game features open-world exploration (as long as you want) and is designed to be as navigable as possible.

My name is Dom. I make games.
Devil Tears is my first game and it’s partially made using the Unity engine, but the game design is not oriented to that technology.
The game was done using the programming languages Javascript, C++ and Python.
Why I made this game?
The game I made is something personal. Even when I was younger, I had a lot of urges of exploring new ideas. Playing with something new was usually great to calm my anxiety, in a way. Why does it take so much stress to make something different when you can just relax with something familiar? My goal with this game is to give a different kind of anxiety-relieving experience for anyone else who might share this view.
Let the Game Devil Tears take you on a journey to a new type of scary, “surreal” world that you probably don’t want to enter.

It’s been a while.
But I’m back to do what I do best: my new game, Devil Tears.
It’s a game about exploration and “surreality”. It’s like you are navigating a “waking dream” world, mostly in 2D, but also in 3D, if you like. You explore the ever-changing environment and meet people.
Devil Tears is a game you can design your own way to end, and have your “quest” be as long or short as you want.
As there is no really “game” mechanic in the game, it’s up to you to experience the game in its “surreal” way.
I’m often asked what’s the difference between Devil Tears and my previous project. The answer is simple: I wanted to do something new.
So I created a new toolkit and a new (more open) engine to make that happen.
This gave me the chance to do what I wanted to. Explore new design spaces without feeling like I’m “reinventing the wheel

Okay, I’m not great at programming, but I’m working on this “Story” for ~1 hour now (in 2 days). Just want to say thank you for visiting, and comment in advance.
Many games have stories, so this story comes first. Also the first sequel of this story.
To start:
The story begins in the year 2012. You are viewing this file from the year 2048.
The main characters are you, the player and Sypher (which means Sypha + Alpha).
In the year 2012 you are a normal, average human being. You live in the middle of a lovely city, and it’s populated with various humans, and there is a park close by, which is (and still is) the largest and most popular park in the city.
You’re a punk rocker, and you are involved in some punk stuff, but you don’t go to any shows, because they’re mostly lowbrow music, and that’s not what you’re into.
You’re a programmer, and your friend has an idea: an android robot which is made out of metal, and can kill without pain. You’re interested in it, but you’re not into robot-hacking, and that’s also not what you’re into.
You have a friend (Evan) who’s into the punk rock, and he has an idea as well. A dating game, in which you both can participate, and which rewards you by – among other things – allowing you to play Rockband with robot monsters, which are used for the normal play of Rockband.
Sypher and Evan’s parents are not very interested in the idea, but both you and your parents are, because the robot can replace many jobs and can be used as a super-cool robot and your parents have money, because they’re rich.
Evan’s parents agree to it, because there is no way they can stop him, and his computer can be hacked into.
The story begins, when the next day Sypher went to his parents, and asks for permission.
The parents agree. But, one of them changed the law in the agreement, which says, that in case of any (violent) crimes by Sypher, his parents have to decide for him, what to do.
Sypher’s father (you never met his father, cause he died in an accident with a machine, which wasn’t meant to be used) agreed,

Real Games
Real Games is an American television series broadcast on NBC from September 24, 1992 to March 16, 1993. The series was an attempt to create a show combining actual games with actors, all of them attempting to win a prize. That prize was $500,000.
